More family fun!

One of our favorite things to do when we go to Utah to visit Denton and Jen and their family, is to visit Temple Square. We did this on a Friday while Kade was in school, so unfortunately he is not in this picture. Ron caught Kali and Gage playing in the water at one of the many fountains around the Salt Lake Temple. I love the looks of their faces...priceless! A visit to the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson in March 2008. We always look for opportunities for pictures with our grandkids. This taken while Nicole and the kids stayed with us for a while just before their move to Oregon.
Denton, Jen, Kali and Gage in front of the Salt Lake Temple. The idea was to get the Temple in the background...Ron just couldn't quite get the vision. Good picture! Taken on our visit over Memorial weekend in May 2008. I love the beauty and the peaceful feeling of the temple grounds. We also visited the Beehive House during our visit that day. You'd never know that it had poured down rain on our trip from Lehi to Salt Lake City. Denton and Jen were very gracious hosts while we visited, taking us around to sites I'm sure they've seen a hundred times.
Obviously Braelyn is younger in this picture, but one of my favorite pictures of these three!
Our visit with Braelyn as her parents work to get her to laugh. She has the cutest smile!

GRANDPAS GARDEN

Grandpa did not plant his usual big garder, but right out there back door they have tons of tomato plants that are full right now of green tomatos. They will have tomatos to share in another couple of weeks
Here is grandma trying to show some of the tomatos.
Another of grandma trying to show us a red tomato, but still could not see it.
This is looking from the storage room toward the garage. Thre is like 15 tomato plants here. Any one have a good salsa recipe for canning?
We also celebrated Tom and Grandpas birthday on Monday night. Grandpa is holding a statue that Tom and Sam gave him. You really can't see it well, but it show a dad giving his son a bronc ride on his back. I have a lot of memories of getting those rides from grandpa. They weren't gentle rides he did every thing he could to buck you off. Great memories. Grandpa celerated his 84th Birthday.

SILVER FALLS & OREGON COAST

The sand was the only warm place on the beach, so Mimi and Crewser bury their hands and feet to get warm.
Chad was set on building a sand castle with the kids toys. He succeded by building a good one, but Koye couldn't stand it, and just had to jump right in the middle of it. Oh well, the fun is in the building, Chad.
I like this picture because it not only shows Madi, Chad and Bill playing in the sand, but the view of the coast is pretty awesome too!
Everyone else had given up, but Madi was determined to keep building. Not shown here, but she was so cute with her little blue bucket, chasing the waves, trying to get some extra water. She finally succeded by getting a cup or two.

Ron and I were freezing, but by this time we were all pretty much numb, so I wanted proof that we were up and moving around. Sorry Ron, I forget to pack a jacket for you.
These pictures are out of order, because we went to the falls first, and then the coast...so here is Brooke, Brent, Chad and little Crewser at the Silver Falls State Park. These pictures don't do it justice, because it was absolutely so green and gorgeous!! Moss was growing all over the trees, but it was green, so it was even pretty. We had a nice picnic lunch, did some running around (the kids of course) and then headed for the falls area.
We are just starting the climb down to the falls. We will actually soon be standing on a path right behind the falls that you see in the background of this picture. It was a hot, sunny day...perfect for an adventure to see the falls. Perfect...until it was time to climb back out of the canyon.
Crew is so fun!! Each time he would see someone with a camera looking at him, he would get the biggest grin on his face and say "cheese!"
Chad is just chillin on the fence at the bottom of the canyon.
Oops! Picture out of order. I couldn't resist taking this picture, it was such an awesome view with the different colors in the sea, sand, clouds and sky. Could almost be a postcard print, huh?

SHERWOOD, OREGON VACATION

We started out our vacation by seeing Braelyn, Oh and Chris and Shelley
Waiting for our flight out of Phoenix, Chad's first time to fly. He's excited, but you wouldn't know it by the look on his face.Madi and Koye having fun. Thank you, Madi, for letting us have your comfortable bed.
Guess which one is the Mother and which one is the Daughter. Hot, hot, hot. Posted by Ron.
Madi and Koye just love their Aunt Brooke!! Koye was pretty much with Brooke most of our trip. She is such a "sweetheart.!

Cute, Cute, Cute! We just sat and held the kids for the first hour or so. Crew was asleep when we first got there.

As soon as Crew woke up, Papa brought him in to get hugs. He is absolutely the most loving baby. He hugged and held on to each of us for such a long time.

Papa getting his hugs. Notice the green trees in the background out of the back door.
Mimi getting her hugs.
Crew was sometimes the first one up in the morning, so we had some one on one fun times with him. Chad slept on the couch, so he was usually up before he really wanted to be. Sorry Chad.
Sunday morning. Eating breakfast with dad before heading off to Church.
There is a really nice, big park just across the street from their house. It is about 9:00 PM and still light outside, so we decided to play at the park. Madi shown here balancing on a park jungle gym.

Koye trying to climb one of the many trees at the park. We soon ended up on the baseball field (imagine that) so the boys could run and play. Before we left, Chad challenged Bill and Brent to a foot race. Brent beat them both by two lengths. "Always knew you were fast Brent". If we had had a baseball bat and ball, there would certainly have been a "home run derby" challenge too. We'll plan that for the next trip.
