Shooting guns in the Wash

Brent got a new hand gun and wanted to try it out, so we went to the wash to shoot. It was hot, but we had a good time....uh well, until we got stuck in the sand. Thanks Uncle Tom for pulling us out!

Chris, Brent, Chad & Ron showing off their guns.

Even Brooke got in on the fun. Sorry, I thought I got some pictures of Brooke shooting, but guess I didn't.

Braelyn on Halloween/Papa's Birthday

Braelyn was born on March 17, 2008, so she is dressed the part. She just loved Koa, Brent and Brooke's little Yorkie dog, seen here with Papa and Braelyn.
There was no carnival to attend, so we had our own little party, and celebrated Papa's birthday too!

More of the Falls

Enjoying the sights of Oregon

This is a very popular tourist location (many postcards with this Falls on it), located across the Columbia river from Washington, north of Portland. Such a magnificant sight. It was cold this day because the mountain is so high that the sun is hidden behind it. Notice the small bridge in the middle of the picture? We hiked up the trail to this bridge and took pictures on the bridge. The tall waterfall is 542 feet high, the lower falls is about 69 feet high.
I took this picture so I could remember the name of the falls.

Can you believe the color of the leaves on the tree in the background? Madisen's sweater is pink, and the tree is very close to the same color. Koye loves to make faces, can you tell? This tree is in their back yard, so makes a beautiful backdrop for this family picture.

Another pose for the happy group. Same gorgeous tree!Grandma taking advantage of a "kodak" moment with Madi, Koye, Crew and Braelyn.

The Portland Temple

Bill, Nicole, Madisen, Koye and Crew with the magnificant Portland Temple in the background. Shelley, Braelyn, Brooke and Nicole enjoying the beautiful grounds around the Temple.

Taking time to enjoy a mother/daughter moment.

Such a grogeous sight!!!

Another gorgeous view!

Surprise trip to Oregon

Stopping to pose for a group picture at the pumpkin patch. Shelley, Nicole, Brooke and me. I'm so glad Shelley planned this surprise trip to see Nicole and Bill and their sweet family. Bill was such a good guy. He kept it all a secret and even drove well over an hour to pick us up at the airport in Eugene. It was such a great surprise!
Little Braelyn was such a good baby the entire trip. She seemed to enjoy everything we did, and was such a happy little girl the entire time.

The pumpkin patch was such a fun atmosphere. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather. Madisen had a great time picking out her favorite pumpkin and posing here with a seemingly very happy one.

One of my favorite things is waking up with a house full of sweet little children. Here is Madisen holding her little cousin, Braelyn. Her brother Crew wanted to get in on the fun too.

If you know me very well, you know how much I love beautiful trees! I was so excited to find out that the leaves were turning colors and still on the trees. I have never seen such beautiful colors of leaves. I grew up in northeastern Arizona, so I was used to seeing leaves change to yellow and some red...but nothing like these ones in Oregon. They have yellow, red, pink, and purple. Even their hedges were turning the most gorgeous color of red. I was afraid it would be rainy and gloomy, but we were blessed with sunshine and great weather the entire trip. I was definitely in heaven!

TRIP TO SEE KIDS IN QUEEN CREEK

We went to Queen Creek to see our kids and celebrate Debs 29th Birthday! Brent and Brooke got us tickets to the D-Backs game. We actually got to see them sqeek in a win and Webb get his 20th victory. Unfortunately the rest of the weekend was not very good to them. Any way we forgot to take our camera to the game. But got to take some pictures of Brazer while we were there. It is always fun to take pictures of our grand kids when we have the opportunity. What a sweetheart. She has a way of getting to you with that little cheezy grin!
I used to do this trick with her Daddy when he was a baby. Plus all the other kids and grandkids.
Mimi getting to hold Braelyn before church. She was modeling her cute bow that her mommy made for her.
Here is Braelyn and her Daddy doing tricks. She is and old pro at it now, but in the next month or so will finally start figuring out that hey this is kind of scarey and will stop doing the tricks. It happens to all of them.
Uncle Brent, Aunt Brooke, Braelyn, and Mimi. Just hanging out. Braelyn has them all wrapped around her little finger.

Kids come home for visit

Brent and Brooke pose with their "baby" Koa. He is such a lively, fun little dog...we love him too!
Sorry, this is sideways. After attending church together, we came home and took some pictures outside. The sun was really bright, so we took some shots under our tree, thus the spotted look. Braelyn looked so cute in her new Sunday dress and Shelley made her headband to match. She looked so darling! She has really mastered standing on her Daddy's hands...and is not afraid at all.
Papa and Mimi get a picture with Braelyn.
Chris, Shelley and Braelyn pose for a family picture after church in Pomerene.
This picture is out of order (sorry). Ron and I took a short trip to Eagar over the Labor Day weekend to see my Mom in Eagar. It rained most of the time we were there, but just before we left the sun came out. It was really pretty and green and we had such a nice visit.
Braelyn in her little seat. She is such a darling baby girl. Shelley makes all her headbands with the bows to match.
We decided to make eggrolls while the kids were visiting a couple of weeks ago. Even little Braelyn got in on the action. Brooke, Shelley and Deb busily working away.
Chris (Dad) stepped in to help by getting Braelyn to take a short nap.
Braelyn and Mimi stop for a quick pose.
The sun was really bright, but I insisted on getting a group picture. Brooke and Brent beat us all home from church so they had already changed their clothes. We made them get in the picture anyway. (Notice how pretty the clouds are in the sky)

More family fun!

One of our favorite things to do when we go to Utah to visit Denton and Jen and their family, is to visit Temple Square. We did this on a Friday while Kade was in school, so unfortunately he is not in this picture. Ron caught Kali and Gage playing in the water at one of the many fountains around the Salt Lake Temple. I love the looks of their faces...priceless! A visit to the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson in March 2008. We always look for opportunities for pictures with our grandkids. This taken while Nicole and the kids stayed with us for a while just before their move to Oregon.
Denton, Jen, Kali and Gage in front of the Salt Lake Temple. The idea was to get the Temple in the background...Ron just couldn't quite get the vision. Good picture! Taken on our visit over Memorial weekend in May 2008. I love the beauty and the peaceful feeling of the temple grounds. We also visited the Beehive House during our visit that day. You'd never know that it had poured down rain on our trip from Lehi to Salt Lake City. Denton and Jen were very gracious hosts while we visited, taking us around to sites I'm sure they've seen a hundred times.
Obviously Braelyn is younger in this picture, but one of my favorite pictures of these three!
Our visit with Braelyn as her parents work to get her to laugh. She has the cutest smile!

GRANDPAS GARDEN

Grandpa did not plant his usual big garder, but right out there back door they have tons of tomato plants that are full right now of green tomatos. They will have tomatos to share in another couple of weeks
Here is grandma trying to show some of the tomatos.
Another of grandma trying to show us a red tomato, but still could not see it.
This is looking from the storage room toward the garage. Thre is like 15 tomato plants here. Any one have a good salsa recipe for canning?
We also celebrated Tom and Grandpas birthday on Monday night. Grandpa is holding a statue that Tom and Sam gave him. You really can't see it well, but it show a dad giving his son a bronc ride on his back. I have a lot of memories of getting those rides from grandpa. They weren't gentle rides he did every thing he could to buck you off. Great memories. Grandpa celerated his 84th Birthday.
